The P10 Cal. 9mm x 19

The German preference for fire control.  It differs from the USP in that the markings Sicher for Safe and Feuer for Fire are painted on the frame of the pistol, forward instead of on the selector lever/decocker, as is the case with USP pistols.  The decocking system remains the same as to direction, but returns to safe under spring pressure instead of fire.

 

The P10 German Police Service Pistol

The newest pistol adopted by the German police is the P10.  Essentially a USP Compact  with the addition of a spurred hammer, and a fire control mechanism of the P8, as shown below.

The USP line as well as these German variants were designed by the great Helmut Weldle, longtime HK engineer and the brains behind many of HK's great firearms.
